Ken Sofer is the Director for Policy Communications at the International Rescue Committee, a global humanitarian organization supporting people whose lives have been shattered by conflict and disaster in more than 40 countries around the world. In his role, Ken supports the organization’s advocacy for policies that will support refugees, asylum-seekers, and other crisis-affected communities.
Prior to working at the International Rescue Committee, Ken was the Associate Director for National Security and International Policy at the Center for American Progress, a public policy think tank based in Washington, DC. Ken received a Masters in Public Affairs from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and received his BA from the University of Southern California’s School of International Relations.
For Ken, the IRC matters because shared global challenges like the climate crisis and humanitarian need require global conversations, and the IRC is helping bring these conversations to the Kansas City community.
