Sarah Rababy is a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of experience dedicated to improving conditions in conflict-affected areas. Her expertise spans international economic development, local engagement, technical assistance, research, analysis, and communication. Throughout her career, she has served as a trusted advisor, instructor, and briefer to senior military and civilian leaders, providing insights on a diverse range of topics including political and security analysis, economic initiatives, peace processes, and good governance.
Prior to her role at the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) drafting lessons learned reports for the U.S. Congress, Sarah served as a Regional Advisor to U.S. Four-Star Commanding Generals at NATO in Kabul, where she provided strategic guidance on regional dynamics impacting Afghanistan. At the U.S. Department of State, she served as a Deputy Provincial Team Lead in Afghanistan, managing economic development programs and mentoring Afghan officials on public financial management. Her work has also included training advisors at the Defense Intelligence Agency and conducting socio-cultural analysis for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. She moved to the Kansas City area from Washington DC in 2022.
