Paul Weida
Paul WeidaRetired from Black & Veatch

Mr. Weida is recently retired from a 38-year career with a global engineering and construction company headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. In his role as Vice President of Government Affairs, Mr. Weida worked with governments around the globe to help the company win and successfully execute projects. His work required extensive international travel. Locally, Mr. Weida was Co-Chair of a group of community leaders that developed the Kansas City Region Export Plan as part of the Brookings Institutes Global Cities Initiative, and he recently served as Board President of Global Ties KC.

For Paul, the IRC matters because in today’s world there are very few aspects of our daily lives that are not affected by world events, both good and bad. It is so important for all Kansas Citians to better understand how these events affect us, and the IRC is the bridge to help understanding. Also, diversity and cultural understanding is such a wonderful thing and the IRC’s work helps more people understand that.
