Dr. Charles Bankart’s passion for international work stems from his experience studying and working abroad, learning languages (Hungarian and French), and spending his entire career working with the International community. As a returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Hungary), and the University of Kansas’ (KU) Senior International Officer, he is committed to bringing the world to our community and connecting our community with the world. He has been with KU for 17 years now and has benefited greatly from KU’s deep partnerships with the IRC over that time.
For Charles, the IRC matters because it celebrates international diversity and convenes the community to engage in critical International and global topics. Through its programming and outreach, the IRC helps remind us all that we are part of a much larger global community and have an obligation to engage that community responsibly, ethically and with empathy. The IRC is fundamental to the development of intercultural competencies and awareness across our region and across sectors. Charles is profoundly proud to be part of such an incredible organization.
