2021 event happed on Monday, Sept. 27th – Friday, Oct. 1st . Speakers were available to share global opportunities via in-person school visits and program livestreams

About the 2021 Event

In 2021, students found Your Global Future in …

  1. Business & STEM;
  2. Nonprofits;
  3. the Government & Service;
  4. Study Abroad; and,
  5. Colleges & Universities

Due to the circumstances of 2021,  the fair brought global possibilities right to students where they are, in-person. Over five consecutive days, the IRC brought sponsoring speakers from a different international path to present directly to an auditorium full of students at a local high school, while also live streaming and recording the event for other teachers and students to access across the area.

2021’s Your Global Future included flexible programming options for students, teachers, and organizations to take advantage of in their school auditorium, classroom, or at home. Participating schools had access to:

  • A panel with different speakers each a day for 5 days, scheduled during the school day;
  • Further information from panelists here on the Your Global Future webpage;
  • Raffle drawings for prizes for students and teachers;
  • Recording of the event for registered students and IRC members.

Your Global Future – 2021 FAQs

All of our panelists were able to discuss how their opportunities can benefit the students and lead them down a particularly international path, either elsewhere in the world or from right here in the Kansas City area:

  • Business & STEM: Businesses and organizations from a range of sectors, including engineering, finance, law, medicine, and technology;
  • Nonprofits: Ethnic and cultural groups represented in the Kansas City area, Kansas City-based international NGOs, and museums with global connections;
  • Government & Service: Government agencies and ROTC programs;
  • Study Abroad: representatives from study-abroad programs at local universities
  • Colleges & Universities: Academic and admissions departments from local colleges and universities;
Teachers, administrators, or other coordinators: registered groups of students for remote or asynchronous viewing all at once. Students could also register themselves individually.

Presenters & Sponsors: registered to share their organization in-person to an audience of 100-200 students, and live or asynchronous digital viewers.

The Your Global Future global college & career fair is underwritten by support from the participating organizations and generous Kansas City-area donors to ensure that attendance is completely cost-free for teachers and students, every year.

For our sponsoring speakers: organization’s financial contribution subsidizes student attendance and bus transportation to IRC programs. We had options for both single-panel sponsorship and participation or week-long sponsorship.
