Mike is in his fourth career: serving on local, national and international non-profit boards. Prior to this phase, Mike taught for 15 years on the health administration faculty of the Bloch School of Management at UMKC. He served on the boards of several nonprofit health and education organizations and for several years in the ‘80s hosted a radio show on KCUR. Earlier, he was a developer of one of the Midwest’s first prepaid health plans, Prime Health, and worked in the HMO field for 15 years. He has consulted widely in this country on health policy and administration and abroad for USAID and the World Bank. His earliest career was serving for 8 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer and senior Peace Corps official with the Department of State in Asia, Africa and Washington. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College (BA) and UMKC (MPA).
