IRC Academy members are regularly invited to virtual meet-and-greet opportunities with speakers before or after their digital presentations.
On Tuesday, February 19, 2019, IRC Academy members were invited to a luncheon with Daniel Schneiderman, deputy U.S. director of International Crisis Group. Attendees learned about the current state of the conflict in Yemen, including the UN peace process, U.S. policy, and Congressional developments.
On Thursday, May 10, 2018, IRC Academy members were invited to a welcome dinner given in honor of more than ten visiting Asian diplomats, including the ambassadors of Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, and Singapore and the consuls general of China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea, and Turkey.
On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, IRC Academy members were invited to a special dinner with Mr. Gregory Gottlieb, director of the Feinstein International Center at Tufts University and recent acting assistant administrator for the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance at USAID. Mr. Gottlieb shared about his work in international relief efforts, and attendees engaged him on a range of topics.
