Dear Friend,

Our sincere thanks to everyone who joined us for week one of the Choices Election Issues series, focusing on tariffs and trade with former U.S. Trade Representative Amb. Ron Kirk. We're especially appreciative of series sponsors Nancy C. Messer, the University of Missouri, and Buttonwood Financial Group. Thanks also to global conversation sponsor, the Foreign Trade Zone of GKC, and sustaining conversation sponsors, Nicole Gresham Perry and the International Trade Council of GKC. Do check out our educational partner for this program, the Bertelsmann Foundation, as well. We hope to see you in the weeks ahead, as we discuss the transatlantic relationship, peace in the Middle East, and other topics of consequence.

Registration remains open for businesses, universities, government entities, and nonprofits interested in participating in this year's Your Global Future college and career fair for high-schoolers – now digital and held over the mornings of October 13-15. Free registration for schools and student groups is also available. Please reach out to staff lead Natalie Friend with any questions; we warmly welcome your involvement!

You won't want to miss the next installments of the IRC Book Club and International Film Club. Returned Peace Corps volunteers will help us consider the film Timbuktu on Wednesday, September 30. And on Wednesday, October 14, author Wendy Pearlman will join us via Zoom to discuss her book, We Crossed a Bridge and it Trembled: Voices From Syria.

Kind regards,

Matthew Hughes, Executive Director
