Dear Evan,

There's still time to sign up for this evening's programs– a look at the U.S. foreign policy concept of the West with historian Michael Kimmage and International Spy Museum curator Vince Houghton and a Lexicon intro to the Amharic language. The IRC office will be closed on Friday to mark the Fourth of July holiday, but do take a look below at the digital events coming up next week.

We're excited to share some that the IRC team is growing! First, we are very pleased to be welcoming our first Americorps VISTA team member. Natalie Friend, who served as our global education intern this spring, will start on Monday as theIRC's new Education Outreach Coordinator VISTA. In this role, Natalie will support the development of global literacy in area high school students. Learn more about Natalie here, and please do reach out and wish her welcome to this new position – I know that Natalie will look forward to connecting, especially with area students, teachers, and administrators.

We're also going to be growing our team in the months ahead with the addition of a new event assistant position. This contract role will support the planning, marketing, implementation, and evaluation of IRC programs, which are all online for the time being. More information is available on our Careers page; we invite you to share this posting with individuals you know who might be interested.

As we shared with you in May, tomorrow is Membership Assistant Jon Hartnett's last day with theIRC. We wish him very well as he pursues a master's degree in Washington, D.C., and thank him for his contributions to the IRC community.

In the list of upcoming events below, you'll notice that the WorldQuest global trivia night, usually offered in the spring, has been rescheduled in an online format for Thursday, September 17.We can all benefit from some time together right now. That's why the first 25 IRC organizational members to register will receive a complimentary team of eight in 2020. For more information on IRC organizational membership, please be in touch or visit our pages for businessuniversity, and nonprofit organizational members. Other ticket options are available on the event page.

We wish you and your family a very safe and enjoyable holiday. Thank you for all you do to support the IRC.

Kind regards,

Matthew Hughes, Executive Director
