Everyone's lives are currently altered in one way or another, but there's one thing you can count on from us –we're going to be here. While our offices are closed, and our in-person programming is on hold, we are going to continue tofulfill our missionof maintaining an active dialogue surrounding international issues and their relationship to the Kansas City community.

For the last 65 years, we have presented public programming that has relied on personal connection. While the current public health situation makes that impossible, we believe that, with a little help from you,we can stay as connected as ever.

We are entering the next generation of engagement with the International Relations Council. Our discussion groups, experiences, lectures, and panel discussions are being modified to formats that offer the same meaningful, deep-dive conversations in aformat you can access from anywhere.

Digital programming will be our sole output for the near future, but in-person programming will return. When it does, remote-access programs will be offered to supplement our event calendar. We will be able to offer those with busy lives toexpand their ability to connect with the IRC.Accessibility to the community is a top priority at the IRC, and these adjustments will allow us to take an important step in that direction.

You play an essential role in helping shape our new future. We have a goal of raising funds to optimize digital platforms, purchase audio-visual equipment to allow for a more seamless connection to the public, and support staff capacity for this new wave of programming. Any help, financial or otherwise, puts us one step closer to this goal. You're welcome todonateusing the button below, mail in your contribution, or drop me a line atmhughes@irckc.orgif you'd like to talk further.

We hope you'll be as active with the IRC as your life allows right now. If you need time away to focus on your family, your friends, and everything else that is currently impacted, please take that time. We'll be here when you're ready– working to facilitate conversations that connect Kansas City with the world around us.

Don't hesitate to get in contact with us during this time! Whether you have ideas for programs, a story you'd like to share, or a question about how you can be more involved with the IRC, please send an email any of our staff listed below. We're here for you, however you need us.
