When we have special guests visiting Kansas City, like we did with the Middle East Institute's Dr. Paul Salem this week, we love introducing them to as many members of our community as we can. Outside of the 25th annual Berkley Lecture, for example, Dr. Salem engaged high school and university students in meaningful discussions around the Middle East and the United States' role in the region. More than anything, it's these connections that our visitors take with them from their time in KC, and you make that possible. At the IRC, we talk substantively about what's happening around the world, yes – but, more than anything, we're a community. And we can't do it without you.

In the weeks ahead, we have a number of other opportunities to come together as a community. Do join us as you're able, knowing that your presence, perspective, and active participation make a difference for all of us.

We hope to see you at tomorrow's open house and throughout the weeks ahead.

Kind regards,

Matthew Hughes, Executive Director• 816-897-6474
