Dear friends,

As we close the year, we have some updates to share with you about IRC staff, offices, and plans for next year. You may have had the opportunity to meet program coordinator Rachel White during her time with us this fall. Rachel has moved on to another opportunity, and we wish her the best.

We've posted an opening for a full-time program coordinator to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and events; contribute to organizational communications and marketing; serve as an ambassador for the organization in the Kansas City community; and support other IRC initiatives. This position reports to the executive director. Please share the full posting » with individuals you know who might be interested, noting the priority application deadline of Friday, January 3.

The new program coordinator will join us in our new office space at Union Station, where we'll be moving to start the new year. We've outgrown our current space at the corner of 9th and Baltimore and look forward to moving into the KC Chamber's offices on the second floor, which also serves as home to the World Trade Center–Kansas City. We're excited about this move and look forward to welcoming you to our new offices in the new year! Stay tuned for a new mailing address and phone number.

The IRC's Board of Directors expresses its sincere thanks to the following members who are finishing their terms of service on the board: Chelan David, Kirk Doan, Anné Erickson, Bob Rebori, Larry Rouse, Cyprienne Simchowitz, and Mike Wood. Congratulations to these newly elected officers for 2020: Jeff Bell (president), Holly Nielsen (first vice president), Carrie Sherer (second vice president), Kimberly Connelly (secretary), and Nancy Messer (treasurer). We also welcome the following individuals who will begin a three-year term on the IRC's Board of Directors on January 1:

  • Christina Arnone, Stinson Law Firm
  • David Au, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City
  • Jon McGraw, Buttonwood Financial Group
  • Shahid Qadri, retired from Black & Veatch
  • Usha Saha, India Association of Kansas City
  • Dave Saunders, Hallmark Corporation

We'll be in and out of the office through the end of the year, so email will be the best way to be in touch if you need anything. Many, many thanks for another wonderful year, and the happiest of holidays to you and your family.

Kind regards,

Matthew Hughes, Executive Director
