Gary Logan has fully embraced the notion of living and working abroad. After spending over 40 years in the ministry, Gary "retired" to begin Synago LLC, dedicated to working toward creating communities where there is a greater appreciation for and understanding of the many cultures in which we live and work. As part of the IRC's International Career Series, the Living and Working Abroad mini-series will explore both the rewards and challenges of building a career overseas. Gary will detail his own life, while also providing guidance and answering questions for those who may wish to follow down a similar path.

About the Speaker
Gary has served as U.S. Armed Forces Chaplaincy denominational representative; presented professional papers at conferences in Washington D.C., Himeji, Japan, Chengdu, China and Valencia Spain; wrote a curriculum for global youth leadership development for Sustainable Hope working in Chiang Mai, Thailand; and has served locally on several non-profit boards.

It has been Gary’s privilege to travel many places in the world (over 25 countries) and meet amazing and courageous people in many cultures. Gary lived in Seoul, Korea while traveling extensively throughout Asia. He has been blessed with family and friends who have roots on six continents (with international students and guests welcomed into their home for over forty years). Gary loves to run and has completed seven marathons, each time raising funds for organizations dedicated to eradicating extreme poverty. Gary finds that all of life is an adventure. Every day brings new experiences, new friends, new ideas, and new joys.

About International Career Series
Staying home is the perfect chance to investigate careers with an international focus or opportunities to work around the world. Whether you are graduating and preparing to enter the job market, looking for a change, or just seeing what's possible, we invite you to join the International Relations Council as we explore international careers. Each week, an IRC member will share their work in an international field, offering insight into educational background, career paths, intricacies of the field, and recommendations for your own search. We encourage you to bring your questions and sense of adventure and make full use of the opportunity to get to know these extraordinary individuals and their stories.
