About Our Hosts

The Missouri Innovation Campus is an exciting, progressive collaboration between the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, Metropolitan Community College and the University of Central Missouri. By engaging business partners and community organizations, The MIC is reshaping the way students experience education.

The University of Central Missouri experience transforms students into lifelong learners, dedicated to service, with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed and lead in the region, state, nation and world. Founded in 1871 in Warrensburg, Missouri with only a few dozen students, more than 140 years later, UCM serves 12,333 students. Our diverse student population represents nearly every state and 50 countries across the globe.

Summit Technology Academy (STA) is a shared campus of junior and senior students who come together for a half-day program as an extension of their home high school. Students seriously interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) related careers in a global environment apply to attend the Academy. STEM-related careers encompass network engineering, software development, cyber security, health science, biomedical science, nursing, digital media, aerospace, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, teacher preparation, and international studies.
